   THANK YOU, ALEXANDER

Thank you, Alexander, for bringing her to me
'Cause it's a long way from California to here in Tennessee
But I can hear her sweet voice whisperin' in my ear
And there is nothing on this earth that I would rather hear

And if we can't be face to face
At least it's good to know
That when I want to be with her
I can always call her on the phone

So thank you, Alexander, I need her here right now
I couldn't wait another day to be with her somehow
She's everything I've wanted, I didn't want to leave
But somewhere deep inside I knew I had to chase my dream

If we can't be face to face
At least it's good to know
That when I want to be with her
I can always call her on the phone

So thanks to you, Alexander . . .
I don't feel so alone

Notes

This song is for the same Jennifer mentioned in the notes for "I Will" . . . I guess it's pretty self-explanatory . . . But do we really thank Alexander Graham Bell ENOUGH for the invention of the telephone?  I know that I am SO grateful that I have a way to talk to my family and friends who are far away.  I was missin' Jen bad . . . and would call her often . . . which eventually led her to ask, "Why do you call so often?" - ouch!  The painful realities of romance.  Love isn't always 'fair' or mutual . . . So, I had to give up calling after a while . . . hey, at least she didn't use "Call Blocking"!  And Alexander helped the transition to be smoother!
