          HARVEST MOON

Took the family out to a baseball game tonight
Triple-A is great, and it's play-off time
Out above the scoreboard - a little to the left
I saw womething special . . . a silhouette in red

And I remembered my first harvest moon
Dancing there beneath the stars with you
     Such a precious moment
And now I've made it to
     Another harvest moon

When I told my wife the story, she didn't get upset
She helped me look you up on the internet
Just wonderin' how you're doin', are you married now, with kids?
And have you ever looked back on old times, like I just did

When I remembered my first harvest moon
Dancing there beneath the stars with you
     Such a precious moment
And now I've made it to
     Another harvest moon

I realized when I saw the sky this evening
In my life, more than once, I've shared true love
          When I looked up . . .

And I remembered my first harvest moon
Dancing there beneath the stars with you
     Such a precious moment
And now I've made it to
     Another harvest moon

Notes

Written over a few of our writing sessions at my place back in 2003.  I mentioned to Bill about seeing the 'big ol' Harvest Moon at the Sounds game and the story developed from that . . . mostly I really wanted to write another 'baseball' song.  Go Sounds!  I think of Poco (a well-respected band in my book . . .) for the sound, especially in the chorus.   A simple story of love - true love.  How cool is it that the wife helps him to look up the old girlfriend?  Not threatened, their love is strong and true.  And most importantly, again - Go Sounds!
