   SHE'S THE BEST

Saturday was ham and eggs in our room
With her beside me, it sure felt right
We laughed together watching cartoons
Then all at once, she began to cry

While I was wondering what she wanted me to say
All I could do was kiss her tears away

          She can be so complicated
But her love makes perfect sense
          For me there's no-one better
          My baby . . . she's the best

Pretty girls they come a dime a dozen
I thought I'd found true love before
Compared to her though they were nothin'
In my heart, she means so much more

I was lost unti the day she came along
Now it seems clear to me where I belong

          She can be so complicated
But her love makes perfect sense
          For me there's no-one better
          My baby . . . she's the best

Notes

I think this was the first song that Bill and I wrote together.  Finished back in May of 2002, we've written quite a few since then.  He brought the upbeat rhythm to the mix (always good to write 'upbeat', and I enjoyed this feel)  We just started telling the story to each other.  As we USUALLY do, the melody is mostly mine, the chord progression is mostly Bill's and the lyrics are very much a result of bouncing ideas off of each other.
