   SHE'S TO LIVE FOR

I'd hit the snooze at least three time
Drag myself up on my feet
Two cups of coffee, traffic jam
Nine to five, then home again
Swanson's dinner as I watched TV

When we met, I was stumbling through my days
     Since then, everything has changed

          She's to live for
          She makes it all worthwhile
          All I wish for
I see there in her smile
          Simply said, she's the best
          I couldn't ask for more
I love that girl to death
          - She's to live for

I hit the snooze at least three times
I just love to hold her close
We share breakfast, kiss good-bye
All day long she's on my mind
Then in my arms when I get home

Every night I'm where I want to be
By her side, it seems so clear to me

          She's to live for
          She makes it all worthwhile
          All I wish for
I see there in her smile
          Simply said, she's the best
          I couldn't ask for more
I love that girl to death
          - She's to live for

Seth Jackson

Seth Jackson is a full-time professional songwriter.  He wrote his first song in 1983, while he was studying for his MBA degree at the Wharton School.  His     second song, "The Atomic Bop", received airplay in the Boston area, prompting The Beat Magazine to write, "Be on the Seth Jackson alert..."  Several years later, Seth left the corporate world to study at the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, where he earned a diploma in Songwriting.

Commuting between Nashville and Los Angeles, Seth is continually expanding the circle of writers, publishers, artists, and record labels he works with.  His collaborators include #1 hit writers and others at publishing companies such as Best Built Songs, Universal, Southern Cow, and more. Seth's catalog is promoted through his own publishing company, Row Town Music.

In addition to country music, Seth writes rock/alternative, pop, blues, and  humorous songs, as well as specialty songs tailored for specific projects.  His song, "Daddy Tried" appears in the motion picture "Letters From a Killer" starring Patrick Swayze.   Seth's song "What's One More Heartache?" was the title cut of Chris Curtice's CD on Ancy Records. Other credits include "We Can Try", recorded by Daniel Nahmod, "Music to My Heart" recorded by  Mr. Dyer's Daughters,"Bucket of Bolts", "I Love My Car", and "Back Seat Baby" all recorded by the The Car Heads, "There Oughta Be a Law" recorded by Blake Luquette, "She Wants a Family" recorded by Tanya Sims plus recordings by various other artists on   independently released CD's and demo projects.

Seth, an ASCAP member, is NSAI Regional Workshop Coordinator for the Los Angeles area and the editor of the Los Angeles Country Notes bulletin. He is a member of The Tennessee Songwriters Assn. and the Songwriters Guild of America.

Notes

Written in my apartment in Nashville in 2002.  Seth and I had been friends for quite a while before this, having originally met out in Los Angeles, but we didn't really start writing together until about this time.  I don't know if this was our first song together, but it was one of our first.  A good collaborative effort.  What a big difference a 'little' thing like love can make!  The character's life is boring and barely worth living, but then after finding his love, practically the same routine is worthwhile . . .  She gives him reason to live.
