     COLORADO '95

Colorado, '95
Denver Airport, missed my flight
As fate would have it, you were just about to land

Two years later, March fourteenth
Your parents house, I took a knee
Had their permission, before I asked you for your hand

I know sometimes I might forget 'bout the little things in life
And when you're tryin' to talk to me, something else is on my mind
Try to forgive me if you can, and honey, please remember this . . .
There are some things I never will forget

The day our baby girl was born
Really taught me what love is for . . .
Changed my whole life, and everything I thought I knew

I count my lessings every night
And look back on my best times in life
Like every morning when I wake up next to you

I know sometimes I might forget 'bout the little things in life
And when you're tryin' to talk to me, something else is on my mind
Try to forgive me if you can, and honey, please remember this . . .
There are some things I never will forget

Colorado, '95
Denver Airport, missed my flight
As fate would have it, your were just about to land

Notes

We wrote this at Brian's house back in 2002.  He had the 'sound' and most of the progression when we started.  We came up with everything else together.
A story of romance and long-lasting love.  Brian was a new father and we drew on that for some of this guy's feelings about his family.  Funny, in MY head I always picture Brian and his wife as the characters in this song - although it is not autobiographical.
