                      (I Wanna Be) Superman

   I wanna be Superman . . . super tough
Xray vision and all that stuff . . . I wanna be Superman
I wanna be Superman . . . man of steel
Hey, what a kick, if I could be a real Superman

I want Lois Lane to call my name if she gets in a jam
I want outlaws all around the land to fear me for who I am

         I wanna be Superman
         I wanna be Superman

   I wanna be Superman . . . in a single bound
Nail the crooks and save the town . . . I wanna be Superman
   I wanna be Superman . . . then I could fly
I could change the world if I was Superman

I want Lois Lane to call my name if she gets in a jam
I want outlaws all around the land to fear me for who I am

         I wanna be Superman
         I wanna be Superman

I seem like an ordinary guy for all you know
But underneath it all I have big plans I don't show
Someday soon I'll share the dreams that I've been dreaming
'Cause I can't go on quietly, while inside I keep screaming

         I wanna be Superman
         I wanna be Superman

I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be Superman

I wanna be Superman . . . big and strong
Make things right when things go wrong . . . I wanna be Superman
I wanna be Superman with all my might
But love sure feels like Kryptonite . . . I wanna be Superman

I want Lois Lane to call my name if she gets in a jam
I want outlaws all around the land to fear me for who I am

         I wanna be Superman
         I wanna be Superman
         I wanna be Superman

I wrote this tune while I still lived in California.  I performed it at Western Beat in California,
and at songwriter nights when I first came to Nashville.   Then, later, my friend Debbie Allen and I rewrote it.
