 LOVE THING

Sue gives the change out at Mapco Express
David's been there every day since they met
Can't get the nerve up to ask
At least he has a full tank of gas

     It's a love thing
Between a woman and a man
     It's a love thing
     Whoa whoa whoa
     It's a love thing
     Around since time began
     It's a love thing

Married for years, Bill and Kate still hold hands
He can just wink, and know that she understands
They go out dancin' on weekends
They share a life they both believe in

     It's a love thing
Between a woman and a man
     It's a love thing
     Whoa whoa whoa
     It's a love thing
     Around since time began
     It's a love thing

I see these people head over heels
I know how it feels I've been there before
I'll find it again, I'm not giving up
          Can't get enough, so I'm looking for . . .

     A love thing
Between a woman and a man
     It's a love thing
     Whoa whoa whoa
     It's a love thing
     Around since time began
     It's a love thing

     {a cappella}
     It's a love thing
Between a woman and a man
     It's a love thing
     Whoa whoa whoa
     It's a love thing
     Around since time began
     It's a love thing

      It's a love thing
Between a woman and a man
     It's a love thing
     Whoa whoa whoa
     It's a love thing
     Around since time began
     It's a love thing

     It's a love thing
     It's a love thing

Jane was a friend of mine who was from N.Y.   I understand, in fact, that she is living there now.
We got together to write and I wanted to write this title, which is from a once-popular Nashville D.J.
He used to talk about "Sounds like you've got a 'Love Thing' there . . . " (see also, "Pull Over" by the way)
Years later (and after performing the song out live around town) I heard Keith Urban singing
the same title and "whoa whoa" . . . hmmmmm . . . I don't even know who wrote THAT song, but I
guess we both listened to the same D.J.?

Jane helped me with the story and the structure, and it was my music.
